Tall Tree and the Eye

In 2009, world renowned artist, Anish Kapoor, selected Global Stainless to fabricate spheres for his monumental Tall Tree and the Eye sculptures.

This illusionistic work continues the artist's examination of complex mathematical and structural principles embodied in sculptural form. The mirrored surfaces of the orbs reflect and refract one another, simultaneously creating and dissolving form, and space.

Made from marine grade stainless steel, each of the 1meter diameter spheres are hand finished to a premium mirror reflection.
The initial sculpture at 15 meters high was assembled in New Zealand and shipped to London for display in the courtyard of the Royal Academy of fine arts.
Since 2009 Global Stainless have continued their relationship with Anish Kapoor Studio. They have gone on to provide the spheres for further commissions of the towering Tall Tree & the Eye sculptures that are located at prestigious locations throughout the world, including the Guggenheim Museum in Spain.
